In a pivotal moment with the bases loaded and two strikes against him, sophomore outfielder Max Belyeu faced the challenge head-on, delivering a grand slam.
This crucial home run, launched into right field, propelled Texas to an impressive 11-1 victory over Baylor, extending their series-winning streak over the Bears since 2017.
From the onset, Texas asserted dominance, blanking Baylor in the opening inning. Sophomore first baseman Jared Thomas kickstarted the offensive onslaught with a single, followed by a sacrifice bunt from freshman second baseman Dee Kennedy and another single from redshirt senior Peyton Powell.
Sophomore Jalin Flores added to the tally with a double, driving in runs and setting the stage for Belyeu’s heroics.
Belyeu’s impact was felt early and often, as he launched not one, but three home runs throughout the game. His explosive performance, including a grand slam in the eighth inning, showcased his exceptional talent and propelled Texas to a commanding lead.

The game concluded after eight innings, with Texas sealing the victory with a final score of 11-1. Senior Jack O’Dowd contributed to the win with a pinch-hit RBI, capping off a dominant performance by the Longhorns.
