At his recent appearance on The Roommates Show, Isaiah Hartenstein shocked Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, his teammates with the New York Knicks, by revealing that he is, in fact, mostly black.
“Now let’s get right to it: Are you black?” Hartenstein was told by Brunson.
Hart continued, “I really wanted to cover that.” “This genuinely makes me happy. Describe your level of blackness, if you have any.
You are aware of its somewhat light skin? My skin is brilliant. Trying to control himself, Hartenstein remarked, “I’m above light-skinned.” “My father is African American.”
The fact that the New York center surprised everyone was likely due to the fact that many had assumed he was entirely white all along. Theresa, the mother of Isaiah Hartenstein, is a white American from Oregon, and Florian, the father, is a German immigrant who is half-black and half-white.
Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson were told by Isaiah Hartenstein that their responses were reasonable. He even likened the scenario to the well-known Key & Peele skit about Barack Obama’s meet-and-greet, in which the former US president only shook hands with white people before giving hugs and high fives to black people.
Do you guys know the program Key & Peele? Thus, you can tell when Barack Obama is approaching because the white man’s handshake differs, Hartenstein added. “The whole vibe changes, the handshake changes when they realize I’m black.”
“I think my mom’s genes kind of took over, but my dad is probably the same skin tone as all of you,” he continued.
This season, Isaiah Hartenstein is having a great game for the New York Knicks.
Since Isaiah Hartenstein assumed the starting center position in December of last year following Mitchell Robinson’s stress fracture to his left ankle, the New York Knicks have seen a significant increase in their star player count.
Isaiah Hartenstein is shooting 63.5 percent from the field and averaging 7.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.2 blocks a game this season.
With a 44-28 record and a winning run of three games, the New York Knicks are presently third in the Eastern Conference.
