The Denver Broncos acquired Wilson in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick. The Jets had hoped Wilson would benefit from the presence of former Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whom they signed before last season, but Rodgers suffered a season-ending injury early on, leaving Wilson to face numerous challenges.
Wilson struggled amidst issues like a weak offensive line and being replaced by Tim Boyle, resulting in modest statistics and a career-high 46 sacks. His season was further hampered by a concussion in Week 15, ending his year prematurely.
Now, with a fresh start under head coach Sean Payton, a former quarterback and mentor to Drew Brees, Wilson aims to rejuvenate his career in Denver. Currently, the Broncos have Wilson and Jarrett Stidham as their top quarterbacks, sparking speculation that they may select a quarterback with their 12th overall pick in the upcoming draft.
