This past Saturday evening, Constellation Field in Sugar Land hosted the J.J. Watt Charity Classic, where Watt and a group of former teammates faced off against current Texans players, all in support of the J.J. Watt Foundation. The event was not only for a good cause but also a lot of fun, with the former players triumphing over the current ones with a decisive 14-1 victory.
During the home run derby that kicked off the night, former punter Shane Lechler outshined quarterback Case Keenum, claiming victory for the fourth or fifth time in that particular event. When asked about his retirement status in a press conference, Lechler’s response was notable. Overall, the evening was a fantastic opportunity to witness past legends mingling with present stars, signaling a promising future for the franchise, much to the delight of the crowd.
Adding to the excitement, J.J. Watt himself made a memorable appearance to top off the event. Additionally, the Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan Alexander penned an insightful piece discussing first-round pick Kamari Lassiter’s potential role in the defense.
