April is recognized as Month of the Military Child, a time when the NFL and the New England Patriots commend the bravery, resilience, and contributions of military children.
Matthew Judon, the Patriots’ star linebacker, ensures to acknowledge those serving abroad as well. Each offseason, Judon runs his Football ProCamp, and this year he brought the event to the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center at Ramstein Air Base, engaging with roughly 180 participants. “Huge shoutout to the Kaiserslautern Military Community, @shopmyexchange, @yourcommissary, and @proctorgamble for an awesome time in Germany at my ProCamps! Memories for life!” Judon shared on Instagram after his visit.
During his trip to Kaiserslautern, Judon also visited Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the largest U.S. military hospital overseas, where he interacted with both staff and patients. He then spent time at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center in the Ramstein Air Base Main Exchange, signing autographs and taking pictures, before conducting football drills with children at Kaiserslautern High School.
Simultaneously, the New England Patriots Foundation has started its own observances for the Month of the Military Child. In collaboration with Cross Insurance, the Foundation and quarterback Nathan Rourke hosted a special football clinic at Joint Base Cape Cod Buzzards Bay. During this event, Rourke along with former Patriots players met and coached children aged seven to 14.
