John Simpson, in the midst of exploring his options in free agency, sought advice from his fellow Raven, Morgan Moses, who had previously played for the Jets in 2021.
Discussing the Jets with Simpson, Moses expressed optimism, saying, “You’re going to love it there.” Little did they know, their paths would soon intertwine in New York. Following their conversation, the Ravens traded Moses to the Jets in exchange for a sixth-round pick and a fourth-round pick swap.
Now, the Jets are set to benefit from Simpson at left guard and Moses at right tackle, bolstering their revamped offensive line. Reflecting on the unexpected turn of events, Moses remarked, “Being able to have a guy that you obviously know going through the free-agency portal and all those things, I look forward to obviously lacing up the cleats and putting on the helmet and shoulder pads with him again.”

Despite his close bond with Simpson, Moses was unable to foresee his own trade, even engaging in conversations with running back Derrick Henry about his Ravens deal the night before. Nevertheless, Moses expressed contentment with his return to New York, stating, “I literally had no idea what was taking place at the time, but I’m truly happy to be back in New York.”
Despite enduring a torn pectoral muscle last season that required surgery post-season, Moses remains optimistic about his recovery, aiming to be fully prepared for training camp. He humorously remarked, “I look forward to having two arms this year.”
