The New England Patriots have disclosed the jersey numbers for their 2024 rookie lineup. While it was known that Drake Maye, their first-round pick, would inherit the No. 10 jersey following Mac Jones’ departure, the majority of the rookie class’s numbers were only revealed recently.

According to the Patriots’ social media announcement, WR Ja’Lynn Polk will wear No. 1, WR Javon Baker No. 6, QB Drake Maye No. 10, QB Joe Milton III No. 19, DB Marcellas Dial No. 27, OL Layden Robinson No. 63, OL Caedan Wallace No. 70, and TE Jaheim Bell No. 88. Polk and Baker utilized the new jersey regulations allowing more players to choose numbers 0-9, but apart from them, there are no surprises.

With these two rookies opting for single-digit numbers, the Patriots now have all numbers from No. 1 to No. 11 allocated. No. 12 remains unclaimed, a customary sight post-Tom Brady.

Notably, Maye, Milton, Dial, Robinson, Wallace, and Bell have chosen traditional numbers for their respective positions.

This May announcement of rookie numbers signifies a departure from the Patriots’ past practice under Bill Belichick, who typically postponed assigning permanent numbers to rookies until the first preseason game.
