The Dallas police department has ceased its investigation into alleged sexual assault accusations against Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, citing a lack of evidence. According to Dallas police spokesperson Kristin Lowman, the investigation has been concluded, with detectives determining that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to suggest that a crime had taken place.
Attorney Yohel Zehaie, representing Victoria Shores of Fort Worth, expressed that while the outcome was expected, it doesn’t discourage them. Zehaie emphasized the challenges victims face in coming forward, acknowledging the difficulty in prosecuting such cases. Despite the closure of the investigation, Zehaie asserted that this doesn’t absolve Prescott of any wrongdoing, hinting at inconsistencies in his account.
The legal battle is far from over, as they intend to pursue counterclaims vigorously. Prescott, who has denied the allegations, cooperated with the police voluntarily. The investigation stemmed from a report filed on March 12 regarding an incident purportedly occurring on February 2, 2017, at the parking lot of XTC Cabaret on Stemmons Freeway.
