Last year, Chiefs terminated Omega Mdaka’s contract after he reportedly declined to serve as a ball boy during Amakhosi’s Carling Knockout defeat to AmaZulu.

Puso Dithejane faced a similar fate but has since joined TS Galaxy. Interestingly, Mdaka trained with Usuthu, but a permanent deal didn’t materialize for the talented young defender.

According to a source, “Mdaka made a significant error by not returning to Chiefs when he had the chance. Now, things seem to be going downhill for him.

In contrast, TS Galaxy swiftly secured Puso, indicating their keen interest. Mdaka finds himself without a team now.”

Initially, Mdaka’s prospects looked hopeful when AmaZulu invited him for assessment. However, things didn’t unfold as planned. Disappointed, Mdaka believed he had resolved his club-search stress.

Although a team promised to sign him, they eventually opted for another player. Nevertheless, he’s striving to stay fit, training and participating in friendly matches, hoping for an opportunity.

As for upcoming fixtures, Chiefs will face Cape Town City on Saturday, March 30th, and Stellenbosch on Tuesday, April 2nd, followed by a match against Chippa on Saturday, April 6th.

Meanwhile, Darrel Matsheke, formerly of Kaizer Chiefs, might move from Stellenbosch to AmaZulu or Orlando Pirates. Negotiations are ongoing, with settlement details being finalized. Matsheke, who has struggled with injuries this season, joined Stellenbosch in October 2023 after a period without a club, including a loan spell with Swallows.
