Estonian basketball talent Henri Drell, a member of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls, witnessed his team’s defeat at home against the Atlanta Hawks with a final score of 113 to 101 this past Monday.
Despite being part of Chicago’s roster, Drell remained on the bench throughout the entire game. The score breakdown by quarters was 30 to 32, 23 to 29, 21 to 29, and 27 to 23, ultimately leading to the Bulls securing a spot in the play-in phase.
This phase determines the last two playoff seeds in both the Eastern and Western Conferences. Although the Bulls won’t advance to the playoffs, they are guaranteed to stay within the top ten.
Drell initially signed with the Bulls in September but was waived the following month. However, he rejoined the team after playing with their affiliate NBA-G League team, the Windy City Bulls.
His NBA debut occurred on March 14 against the Los Angeles Clippers, where he scored two points, making him only the second Estonian ever to play in the NBA, following Martin Müürsepp.
